Scope
EN 10216 (Parts 1–5) covers seamless steel tubes for pressure purposes: P1 room-temp non-alloy, P2 elevated-temperature (P235GH–P265GH, 16Mo3, 13CrMo4-5, 10CrMo9-10), P3 low-temperature, P4 stainless, P5 fine-grain — the European pressure-tube backbone.
Mechanical & Performance Requirements
E.g. P265GH: YS 265 MPa (≤16 mm), TS 410–570 MPa; 13CrMo4-5 YS 290 MPa; 10CrMo9-10 YS 280 MPa; CVN 27 J (TC1/TC2 test classes); delivery normalized or Q&T per grade.
Dimensional Tolerances
OD tolerance ±1% (D ≤ 219.1: ±0.75% typical); wall per table (±12.5% min-wall calculation or ±10% average); length class options; test-class dependent tightened tolerances.
NDE & Hydrostatic Testing
Test classes TC1/TC2: TC2 mandates full-body NDE — longitudinal defects by ultrasonic (EN 10246-7), transverse (EN 10246-6), lamination (EN 10246-14), plus hydro (EN 10246-1 electromagnetic alternative), eddy-current per EN 10246-3; impact tests per option.
