Piling Drill Bit

Piling drill bits are heavy-duty cutting tools designed for borehole excavation in foundation engineering. They feature robust cutting teeth and spiral flight designs that efficiently break and remove soil, rock, and mixed formations. Engineered for maximum penetration rate and long service life in demanding piling conditions.

Our piling drill bits are manufactured from Q345B high-strength alloy steel with tungsten carbide cutting teeth and reinforced wear plates. They are widely used in building foundations, bridge construction, port terminals, and infrastructure projects across 60+ countries worldwide.

Manufacturing Process

Our precision machined parts are manufactured through a 12-step CNC machining process from certified steel bars, including heat treatment, precision grinding, and rigorous QC to meet tight tolerances and demanding performance requirements.

1

Raw Material Receiving & Testing

Certified forged or hot-rolled round bars are received with EN 10204 3.1/3.2 certificates. Incoming inspection checks chemistry, hardness, UT cleanliness, and dimensional tolerance.

2

Sawing / CNC Cutting to Blanks

Bars are cut to blank lengths using CNC band saws or circular cold saws with ±0.5 mm length tolerance, minimizing material waste.

3

Rough Turning

Blanks are rough-turned on CNC lathes to remove scale, decarburization, and forging skin, leaving 1.5–2 mm stock per side for finishing operations.

4

Heat Treatment

Components undergo quenching and tempering (Q&T), carburizing, or induction hardening per specification to achieve case hardness (HRC 55–62) and core toughness.

5

Finish Turning & Boring

Precision CNC turning achieves OD/ID tolerances to IT6–IT7 with Ra 0.8–1.6 μm surface finish. Sleeve bushings are internally bored and honed to H7 tolerance.

6

Milling, Drilling & Keyway Cutting

Keyways, oil grooves, cross holes, and wrench flats are machined on CNC machining centers or using broaching/slotting machines.

7

Cylindrical & Surface Grinding

Critical diameters and sealing surfaces are precision ground to achieve Ra 0.2–0.4 μm and tight dimensional tolerances (≤0.01 mm).

8

Dynamic Balancing (Rotating Parts)

Shafts and rotating components are balanced on dynamic balancing machines to G2.5 or G6.3 grade to prevent vibration at operating speeds.

9

NDT (UT/MT/PT)

Critical components undergo ultrasonic testing for internal soundness and magnetic particle or dye penetrant testing to detect surface cracks.

10

Surface Treatment

Parts are blackened, zinc-plated, phosphated, or coated with anti-corrosion oil as required. Mating surfaces are protected with peelable coatings.

11

Dimensional & Hardness QC

100% dimensional inspection using micrometers, bore gauges, CMM; hardness testing (HRC/HRB/HV) on every batch; thread gauging for threaded connections.

12

Rust Prevention & Packaging

Parts are oiled with rust-preventive oil, wrapped in VCI anti-corrosion paper, packed in plywood cases with desiccant, and labeled per customer requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of piling drill bits do you supply?

Rock augers, core barrels (mattock/roller cone), rock sockets, clean-out buckets, casing shoes, and pilot bits — in diameters 600–3000 mm.

How do I select the right bit for my ground conditions?

Provide the geotechnical report (UCS values, soil layering); we select cutter type — carbide teeth for soil/soft rock, roller cones or core barrels for hard rock.

What materials and cutting tools are used?

Forged alloy steel bodies (35CrMo/42CrMo) with YT/YG tungsten carbide teeth, roller cones, and hardened wear plates on high-wear surfaces.

What connections and rig compatibility do you support?

Kelly box connections (130–200 mm), API threads, and custom interfaces for Bauer, Soilmec, Casagrande, Mait, and other rigs.

Can you repair or re-tip worn bits?

Yes — re-tooth, re-tip, and rebuild services restore worn tooling at a fraction of replacement cost.

What is the typical lead time?

Standard designs 2–4 weeks; custom rock-tool configurations 4–8 weeks depending on diameter and cutter type.

What is the minimum order quantity?

From single pieces — tooling is quoted per item based on diameter, formation, and cutter configuration.

How is quality verified?

Body material certificates, carbide hardness checks, weld penetration inspection on cutter seats, and dimensional reports.

What documentation comes with my order?

Material certificates, welding and heat treatment records, and assembly drawings with cutter specifications.

Can you design tooling for a specific geotechnical profile?

Yes — send the borehole logs and UCS data; we configure cutters, spacing, and tooth geometry to the formation sequence.
