EN 10217 (Parts 1–7) covers welded steel tubes for pressure purposes: TR1/TR2 test classes, non-alloy (P195TR1/TR2, P235TR1/TR2, P265TR1/TR2), alloy and stainless parts — welded counterpart to EN 10216.
Mechanical & Performance Requirements
P235TR1/TR2: YS 235 MPa (≤16 mm); P265: 265 MPa; TS 360–500 MPa range; CVN 27 J; manufacturing per welding method classes (EW, LW, SAWL/SAWH) with heat-treatment condition matrix (as-welded, normalized, Q&T).
Dimensional Tolerances
OD ±1% (±0.75% small sizes); wall ±10% average; straightness ≤1.5 mm/m; end squareness per table.
NDE & Hydrostatic Testing
TR2: product analysis + mandatory NDE — weld-seam ultrasonic (EN 10246-7/10), eddy-current (EN 10246-3), hydro per class; TR1 lighter regime with hydro minimum.
