Square & Rectangular Steel Pipe
Hollow structural sections for construction, mechanical engineering, furniture, and infrastructure. Available in square, rectangular, and circular profiles.
Square & Rectangular Steel Pipe
Square and rectangular steel pipes (Hollow Structural Sections – HSS) are tubular products with a square or rectangular cross-section. They are manufactured either by welding (ERW) from steel strip or coil, or as seamless products from solid billets.
HSS offer significant advantages over traditional structural shapes: higher strength-to-weight ratio, uniform strength in all directions, aesthetic appeal for exposed architecture, and reduced wind resistance. They are the material of choice for modern steel construction worldwide.

Notes: ① EN 10210 is hot-finished: tensile range for t ≥ 3 mm differs from cold-formed EN 10219 (S235: 340–470 vs 360–510; S355: 490–630 vs 470–630). A500 values are for shaped (square/rectangular) tubing — yield strength differs from round tubing. EN 10210 JR quality: Charpy impact not verified by the standard (27 J at +20 °C by agreement). JIS G3466 elongation per No. 5 test piece, reduced 1.5 per mm below 8 mm thickness; no impact requirement. All impact values are longitudinal Charpy V-notch (KV₂). Mechanical properties may vary with section size and wall thickness; all values are minimum unless shown as a range.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is square steel pipe (SHS/RHS)?+
Square hollow sections (SHS) and rectangular hollow sections (RHS) are cold- or hot-formed tubes with square or rectangular cross-sections, made from strip by high-frequency welding or from plate by forming and welding.
What standards does your square pipe comply with?+
We produce to EN 10219/10210, ASTM A500 Gr.B/C, ASTM A252, JIS G3466 and GB/T 6728, with full mill certification.
What size range is available?+
Square: 15×15 mm to 600×600 mm; rectangular: up to 800×400 mm; wall thickness 1.0–25 mm; lengths 6 m, 12 m, or custom.
What is the difference between hot-formed and cold-formed SHS?+
Hot-formed (EN 10210) sections have superior toughness and are preferred for dynamic/cold-climate loads; cold-formed (EN 10219) offer tighter tolerances and higher yield from cold work at lower cost.
Do you supply galvanized square pipe?+
Yes — hot-dip galvanized to EN 10240 / ASTM A123 inside and out, ideal for outdoor structures, racking, and fencing.
How is quality controlled on each length?+
Every length is dimensionally inspected; weld seams receive ultrasonic or eddy-current testing; mechanical and flatten tests are run per lot per standard.
Can you cut, mitre, or pre-fabricate to drawing?+
Yes. We offer cut-to-length, mitre cutting, punching, coping, and pre-welded assemblies to your drawings.
What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?+
MOQ is typically 20–50 tons per size depending on dimensions; common sizes ship in 2–4 weeks. Contact us for a firm quotation.
What corrosion protection options exist for outdoor structures?+
Hot-dip galvanizing (most common), duplex systems (galvanizing + paint), and 3PE for buried use — all available with single-source responsibility.
What documentation comes with my order?+
EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates, dimensional reports, NDT records and coating certificates; third-party inspection on request.
