Scope
EN 10204:2004 defines metallic-product inspection documents: Type 2.1 (declaration of compliance), 2.2 (test report), 3.1 (inspection certificate by manufacturer’s authorized, production-independent inspector) and 3.2 (countersigned by purchaser’s representative or official inspector) — the certification backbone for steel exports.
Mechanical & Performance Requirements
Not a product standard — 3.1/3.2 certificates must carry test results traceable to the delivered product (chemistry, mechanicals, NDE outcomes per the governing product standard).
Dimensional Tolerances
Not applicable; traceability requirements govern: certificates must link product markings to test units; dealers may only forward unmodified originals.
NDE & Hydrostatic Testing
NDE results recorded on 3.1/3.2 when required by the product standard; certificate approval by named responsible person.
